• Over het algemeen raden we een bezoek (Recce) van een locatie vooraf aan. Zo kunnen we een vlucht voorbereiden. We kunnen dan bepalen waar we veilig kunnen opstijgen en landen en eventuele obstakels in kaart brengen. Zijn er wegen die moeten worden afgesloten, is de locatie gemakkelijk toegankelijk en waar zetten we onze basis op. Veel kunnen we beoordelen met foto's, Google maps en gesprekken met de productie. Een technische Recce waarvoor we altijd een Mavic Mini meenemen is echter de enige manier om echt vast te stellen dat we de gewenste shots kunnen maken.

  • Regen en drones gaan niet goed samen. Drones kunnen slechts een minimale hoeveelheid regen aan. We kunnen met windsnelheden tot 14 meter per seconde (7 Beaufort) vliegen. Voor het beste resultaat houden we 8 meter per seconde (4 Beaufort) of minder aan. Op locaties waar objecten of hoge gebouwen staan houden we minder dan 8 meter per seconde aan. We gebruiken windmeters om op locatie te bepalen of het vliegen verantwoord is.

  • Onze ontheffing biedt de mogelijkheid om tot 120 meter hoogte (400ft) te vliegen. De maximale afstand wordt bepaald door het zicht op de drone. Dit is afhankelijk van het type drone dat we gebruiken en de weersomstandigheden. Binnen aaneengesloten bebouwing kunnen we vliegen tot 25 meter van mensen, gebouwen en wegen die niet onder onze controle zijn.

  • Er zijn verschillende no-fly zones in Nederland waarvoor een ontheffing niet mogelijk is, bijvoorbeeld in delen van Den Haag. Deze zijn aangegeven op de luchtvaartkaarten (https://map.godrone.nl). Onze ontheffing biedt de mogelijkheid om in alle gecontroleerde luchtruimen rondom luchthavens vliegen.

  • Onze Alta X Heavy-Lift drone is uitgerust met een Movi Pro. Deze kan een camera en lens meenemen van maximaal 10kg. Dat is bijvoorbeeld de Alexa Mini (LF) of de Sony Venice 2 met prime lenzen, inclusief focus en iris control. Hoe lichter de combinatie, hoe langer de vliegtijd, maar als je een Fujinon, Angenieux zoom of een Orion, Zeiss Master anamorphic wil vliegen, dan kunnen we dat doen.

  • We kunnen ongeveer 15 tot 20 minuten vliegen met bijvoorbeeld de Alta X. De vluchttijden zijn afhankelijk van het totale vlieggewicht, de weersomstandigheden en de vliegsnelheid. We hebben genoeg accu’s en een generator om op de set te laden, zodat we de hele dag door kunnen vliegen. Accu's wisselen duurt ongeveer 5 minuten.

  • We kunnen in alle landen binnen de Europese Unie vliegen. In 2021 zijn er algemene Europese droneregels ingegaan. Een EU-land kan hier nog wel een aantal restricties aan verbinden, maar hiervoor is vaak ontheffing te verkrijgen.

    Buiten de Europese Unie is het afhankelijk van de lokale regels. Onze drones en accu’s zijn gemakkelijk te transporteren in flight-cases.

We always recommend a location scout (Recce) in advance. This way we can prepare the flight perfectly, determine safe take-off and landing spots, and identify any obstacles on the map. If roads need to be closed, the location is easily accessible and we can set up our base. We can often assess it remotely with photos, Google Maps and discussions with the production team. A technical Recce with a Mavic Mini is recommended to confirm that the desired shots are possible.

We can fly in most weather conditions, but safety always comes first. We do not fly in strong wind (>35 km/h), heavy rain, thunderstorms, fog with visibility <1 km, or icing conditions. We always assess the weather on location and have the right to cancel or postpone if conditions are unsafe.

Our exemption allows us to fly up to 120 metres (400 ft) height. The maximum distance is determined by the drone's visibility. This depends on the drone type and weather conditions. In built-up areas we can fly up to 25 metres from people, buildings and roads not under our control.

No, there are no-fly zones in the Netherlands where exemption is not possible (e.g. parts of The Hague). These are indicated on aviation charts[](https://map.godrone.nl). Our exemption allows flights in controlled airspace around airports with RT coordination.

Our Alta X heavy-lift drone is equipped with a Movi Pro. It can carry a camera and lens combination of up to 10 kg. For example the Alexa Mini (LF) or Sony Venice 2 with prime lenses, including focus and iris control. The lighter the combination, the longer the flight time, but if you want to fly with a Fujinon, Angenieux zoom or Orion, Zeiss Master Anamorphic, we can do that too.

We can fly approximately 15 to 20 minutes with for example the Alta X. Flight times depend on the total take-off weight, weather conditions and flight style. We have enough batteries and a generator on set so we can fly all day. Battery swaps take about 5 minutes.

Within the European Union it depends on local rules. Since 2021 general European drone regulations apply. An EU country can have additional restrictions, but exemption is often possible. Outside the EU it depends on local regulations. Our drones and batteries are easily transportable in flight-cases.
