For Kees Flodder 2026 we flew around the Kollenberg in Sittard, the film's new Zonnedael. The region also has Chemelot, the fortified town of Sittard and the Maas valley towards Belgium: industry, history and landscape within a few kilometres of each other.

How we arrange a shooting day in Sittard & Geleen

Authorisation and requests

We fly under our Specific-category authorisation from the Dutch ILT; outside a CTR no request with air traffic control is needed.

Local agreements

In the town centre we coordinate with the municipality of Sittard-Geleen; at Chemelot with the site manager, who applies its own safety rules. For the Grensmaas and other Natura 2000 areas the production has to arrange the site manager's permission.

Planning

Often planned within a few days; for events and city-centre shoots a little earlier because of the municipality. If the shot requires a street or square to be cordoned off, we flag that well in advance so the production can plan for it.

On the shooting day

We arrive on set on time, brief with the director and DOP, and you watch live on the monitor. Then we fly until the shot is in, while a spotter keeps an eye on the airspace and the surroundings.
